Telethon- Child not Bride Project

Summary of the project: BEE-Group is implementing Telethon; Child, not Bride project partnership with Plan International Nepal. The project aims to strengthen the system for preventing child early and forced marriages. The project will be aligned with the Lead and Decide and Girls Get Equal; Preventing Child Early and Forced Marriage project within Bardiya District. The project will be implemented focusing on education, Sexual and Reproductive Health Right, economic empowerment and Social Behaviour Change Communication initiatives related projects which are relevant for Telethon Project.

Overall objective: Reduction of Child, Early and Forced Marriage. 

Strategic Objectives

  1. Keep girls in schools
  2. Adolescents have knowledge on SRHR
  3. Youth, especially girls and young women, are economically empowered
  4. Changing discriminatory social norms 
  5. Improved Child Protection and youth participation related Policies and implementation that affect CEFM.

Major Interventions:

  1. Keep the stakeholders capacitated about the thematic initiation of project as per the outcomes,
  2. Provide technical support to local government on policy level for education, SBCC, Child protection and SRHR as per project requirement.
  3. Ensure that resources are allocated to support promotion of Sponsorship families/children, gender equality and inclusion.
  4. Coordinate with province, district and local government and like-minded Non-government line agencies/stakeholders for the better performance as per project implementation.
  5. Carry out lobby, advocacy and influencing with government agencies and local bodies to enhance achievement and sustainability of the project,
  6. Collect the case stories, codes, photos and media coverage from local areas.

Conduct programs in coordination with line agencies, conducting meeting, trainings, orientations, interactions, workshop, and advocacy campaign based on mutually agreed plan.
